HomePostsVirtual RetreatLast on-line retreat for this year “Windows of God”

Jun 8 Posted by Rebecca Young. Under Virtual Retreat,

For this retreat Chris Chapman will be joined by Dr Gemma Simmonds and Revd. Fabian Wuyts….

Each week will be a personal take on a Christian spiritual tradition or figure and the light they shed on relationship with God, our experience of life and our practice of prayer. Looking through these windows will challenge and refresh our usual ways of seeing.  For further details see here.

Dr Gemma Simmonds belongs to the Congregation of Jesus. She is known internationally as a speaker and retreat-giver. Gemma is Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Religious Life Institute at the Margaret Beaufort Institute of Theology in Cambridge.

Rev Fabian Wuyts grew up in Brussels, Belgium, and moved to England with his wife in 2001.  As a trained social worker, Fabian first worked with unaccompanied minors claiming Asylum in Kent and then moved to work with the children and family department of Kent Social Services.  In 2011, he went for ordination in the Church of England and trained at Ridley Hall.  Did a curacy at Seasalter Christian Centre in Whitstable and started his first incumbency post at St James in Taunton, Somerset. Fabian  holds an MA in New Testament Studies and a MTh in religious studies from the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit in Leuven, Belgium.  He enjoys sport, nature and reading and is looking forward to his next sport challenge . . .  a full triathlon in Cardiff!
