HomePostsLatest NewsNew: St Augustine’s Centre for Spirituality and Mission

Aug 30 Posted by Rebecca Young. Under Latest News,

St Augustine’s is delighted to announce the first course offered by St Augustine’s Centre for Spirituality and Mission.

St Augustine’s Centre for Spirituality and Mission, in partnership with the St Benedict’s Centre, offers short courses and workshops designed to enliven and inform the practice of Christian faith, and to inspire the Christian mission of local churches. Lead by experienced teachers, with a reputation for clear and lively communication, these courses are open to all. Our Centre for Spirituality and Mission plans to hold at least three courses or workshops each year.

…and the first is:

“Trailing Clouds of Glory”: Nurturing the Spirituality of Children

Led by Ronni Lamont, the author of Understanding Children Understanding God, this six week evening course is specially designed for parents, clergy, teachers, and all who work with children in the church context. The course will inform and equip students to discern, understand, and foster the spirituality of the young and very young. Topics introduced will include Children’s Spirituality, Spiritual Styles, the Development of Faith, Generational Theory, and Worship, as well as an introduction to Godly Play. A number of guest teachers will join Ronni, including Rebecca Nye, the author of Children’s Spirituality: What It Is and Why It Matters (Church House Publishing, 2009); Murray Wilkinson, the Canterbury Diocese Children’s and Youth Ministry Adviser; and Mary Hawes, National Children and Youth Advisor for the Church of England.

The course will be offered on Thursday evenings between the 12th October and the 23rd November, 2017. For further details, click here.
