James Butler

James is the associate tutor in mission and evangelism at St Augustine’s.  He is also a lecturer on the MA in pioneer leadership at the Church Mission Society (CMS), Oxford and postdoctoral researcher in practical theology at the University of Roehampton, London. He is married to Iva and has two young daughters.  He has previously spent two years with a mission organisation in Uruguay and has been involved in 24-7 Prayer Boiler Rooms and small missional communities within Fresh Expressions.  He currently lives in Reading, is involved in the local parish church and is connected with various social action initiatives locally.
