Vanessa is currently a part-time independent student at St Augustine’s College in the final year of her degree. She is enjoying her studies and is considering an MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission with St Augustine’s after she graduates.
She also holds a degree in Psychology through the Open University but worked in London for 42 years in the insurance industry, designing insurance programmes for international energy clients before moving into talent development. Vanessa is keen to raise awareness of mental health and has worked with MIND, having been a workplace Mental Health First Aider for many years. She currently volunteers with Age UK’s telephone friendship service.
Vanessa decided to leave her career to focus on her studies at St Augustine’s. As a Librarian, she will have the opportunity to be more involved with the college, as well as to meet and help other students. She is an avid reader and enjoys walking in the North Downs near where she lives, as well as regularly going to London to visit exhibitions, galleries, museums and the theatre.
