Life above: Birds, Ecology and Us
Is Christian life just about heaven above? Or is there an ecological form of discipleship that pays attention to the birds that are in the skies, too?
Come and hear Professor Colin Beale, a world expert in ecology, as he shares a lifetime of research and discipleship amongst the birds of East Africa.
Professor Beale is a trustee of A Rocha UK and author of the beautiful and fascinating book 101 Curious Tales of East African Birds (2023).
His lecture brings together friends and colleagues from St Augustine’s College of Theology and St John’s Waterloo as we embark upon our new project, Discipleship for a Planet in Crisis.
Everyone is welcome to join us at the event, which includes an opportunity to find out more about the project and connected opportunities for study with St Augustine’s.
Join us at 1700 on Friday 9th May at St John’s Waterloo for welcome and refreshments, or come direct to the talk which begins at 1730 and will last for approximately an hour, with time for questions and discussion.
Whether you are an avid birder, a fan of David Attenborough, or curious about how Christians make sense of the planetary predicament, this will be an evening filled with beautiful birdlife and wisdom for all.
