John Huggins

John pursued a career in biomedical scientific research prior to following God’s call to ordained ministry in the Church of England. He trained for the latter at SEITE (now St Augustine’s) and is now Priest-in-Charge of the Len Valley Benefice in the Canterbury Diocese. John started his research towards a PhD in practical theology in January 2021 through the TEI scheme at Durham University with St Augustine’s as local partner. He is researching in the area of hope in Christians as a potential motivator for tackling climate change. John is married to Lorraine (who is also ordained) and has three children, one step-daughter, and a seemingly ever-expanding number of grandchildren!
