Listen to episode three of our Lent podcast, ‘The Joy of Saying Sorry’

St Augustine’s College of Theology introduces the third episode of our Lent 2025 podcast series, The Joys of Lent.

How does saying sorry lead to joy?

For the third instalment of our Lenten Podcast, our guest speaker, The Revd Dr Rebecca Swyer from the Diocese of Chichester, explores how saying sorry isn’t about guilt or shame but the deep joy of making peace with God.

This week, we consider what it means to be human, our relationship with God, and how Christians have found meaningful ways to engage with human behaviour throughout history.

‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.’ – Mark 1:15

Through personal stories and worldly reflections, Rebecca talks about how small moments of repentance can transform our hearts and deepen our faith.

You will consider questions like:

  • What’s weighing you down that you might need to say sorry for?
  • What’s the ‘one thing’ you could work on or do this Lent?
  • How can Lent be a time when we focus on preparing ourselves for living in the new light and joy of Easter?
