A change of leadership in 2027
The Board of Trustees of St Augustine’s College of Theology has appointed Revd Dr Jenny Corcoran as the College’s next Principal. In this role, Jenny will succeed the Revd Dr Alan Gregory when he retires in December 2026.
Jenny is currently Tutor for biblical studies and ordained ministry at St Augustine’s College and has worked at the college for nearly 5 years, having previously worked as Bishop’s Chaplain in Canterbury Diocese.
Jenny trained for ministry at St John’s College, Nottingham, before serving her curacy in Southwell and Nottingham diocese. After curacy, Jenny began her doctoral studies whilst also taking on oversight of a parish on the outskirts of Nottingham city.
Passionate about supporting students
“Having worked at St Augustine’s for the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know the students and staff who make this amazing community what it is,” said Jenny, “and I’m honoured that the Trustees have appointed me to take on the role of Principal from 2027.
“I’ve been involved with training and nurturing vocations for over 13 years, and I’m passionate about supporting students as they grow in confidence and understanding, making vital connections between what they learn in their studies and their experiences in parish, in placements and all of life.
“I look forward to exploring even more ways to continue enabling students to grow and develop, however long or short their time of study at college is and whatever their particular calling.”
“She will be a huge asset to St Augustine’s”
The Rt Revd Dr Martin Gainsborough, Bishop of Kingston and Chair of the Board of Trustees, said: “I am thrilled that Jenny has accepted the invitation of the Board of Trustees to be the next Principal of St Augustine’s. Jenny was thoroughly tested in an extensive and demanding process overseen by GatenbySanderson. She performed extremely well, and I am confident that she will be a huge asset to St Augustine’s in its next season of evolution and development.
“The Trustees look forward to working with Jenny when she steps into the role in 2027. I would also like to pay tribute to Alan Gregory, who will continue as Principal for the remainder of the year, and for his huge contribution to the life of the College. When he leaves us, he will be much missed.”
