By now, most of you will have heard the very sad news about Bishop Karowei, who died last Saturday. What you may not know is that the Bishop was a great friend of the college, who gave his counsel and advice with much kindness and generosity. Bishop Karowei was one of our first Honorary Fellows and, from the beginning took a keen interest in the college’s mission and in our striving to fulfil it. He came and preached on more than one occasion and, most recently, provided a stirring homily at the service of thanksgiving organized by our UKME group. For many of us, Bishop Karowei was an inspiration, wise and affectionate, of great good-humour, and with a gift for challenging people to live up to their calling in Christ. He is one of the saints who made living the gospel seem possible and joyful. For that, we are very grateful.
