As you can imagine, we’ve spent some time thinking about our recruitment practices for the coming year, especially with the likelihood of more time in lockdown and, almost certainly, a ‘mixed economy’ of online and face to face time for the year ahead.
We have decided to develop our existing practice of focusing on the individual ordinand and enquirer, offering them a range of ways into the St Augustine’s experience, as it were. These includes conversations – early in the process – with Principal and senior staff, meetings with current students, virtual tours, auditing teaching sessions, and some other web-based offerings as well. As much as possible, we’ll offer a face-to-face meeting at some point in the process. Our research suggests that this approach works better than scheduling ‘open days/evenings’ at set times.
