HomePostsLatest NewsSpirituality and Mission at St Augustine’s…. new course

Nov 21 Posted by Rebecca Young. Under Latest News,

Owing to the popularity of Ronni Lamon’s course on children’s spirituality, we are delighted to announce that St Augustine’s will run the course again, this time at our Southwark teaching at Trinity House. Nurturing the Spirituality of Children … Trailing Clouds of Glory” will start in the new year, beginning on the 31st January and ending on the 14th of March 2018. Each class will start at 7pm and finish at 9pm. As the 14th February falls during the schools’ half-term, we shall not hold a class on that evening.

Location: Stockwood Room, Trinity House, 4 Chapel Court, (off Borough High Street), London  SE1 IHW.

Led by Ronni Lamont, the author of Understanding Children Understanding God, this six week evening course is specially designed for parents, clergy, teachers, and all who work with children in the church context. The course will inform and equip students to discern, understand, and foster the spirituality of the young and very young. Topics introduced will include Children’s Spirituality, Spiritual Styles, the Development of Faith, Generational Theory, and Worship, as well as an introduction to Godly Play. A number of guest teachers will join Ronni, including Rebecca Nye, the author of Children’s Spirituality: What It Is and Why It Matters (Church House Publishing, 2009); Murray Wilkinson, the Canterbury Diocese Children’s and Youth Ministry Adviser; and Mary Hawes, National Children and Youth Advisor for the Church of England.
