Archdeacon Liz and Bishop Curry talking about Black Experience

Earlier this month, the St Paul’s Institute hosted a conversation between Bishop Michael B. Curry (USA) and Archdeacon Liz, Honorary Fellow of St Augustine’s, entitled ‘The Experience of Black People in the US and the UK: Looking back and looking forward’. The event was attended by a number of St Augustine’s students, but now a video of the conversation is available for all to watch below (courtesy of the St Paul’s Institute).

Appointment New Tutor

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Natasha Klukach as a new full-time College tutor. Natasha is a lay theologian with an academic and professional background in ecclesiology, contextual theology, and ecumenism. She has worked previously in the Anglican Church of Canada, the United Church of Canada, and the University of Toronto. Most recently she spent over six years as a theologian for the World Council of Churches, where her brief involved deepening the relations with and between its member organisations. Graduation Service – St James’s, Bermondsey

On Saturday 19th October, St Augustine’s College of Theology held its annual graduation service at St James’s, Bermondsey. The event celebrated the academic awards achieved by those who recently completed their programmes of study and training: independent students as well as Readers, newly ordained deacons, and curates. Bishop Karowei, Honorary Fellow of the College, preached during the service on the College’s motto – ‘What we shall be is yet to be revealed’ (1 John 3:2) – before handing out the certificates to the graduates.
